What’s on in Sligo

Happy Christmas!
What’s on in Sligo on Christmas day?
We hope you are all enjoying the Christmas time with your family. The town was really empty today. I was driving in Sligo to see again how the town looks on Christmas day. Few people walking, two or three cars only. Lots of cars were parked in the housing estates, perhaps family visitors gathering for the Christmas time.
Strandhill was pretty much the same. Few more people walking on the wet sand. Dog shit was everywhere but I suppose this has nothing to do with Christmas. ![]()
I expected snow this year, same as last year even if the amount is never enough to take out my sleigh.
I met Santa this year. Everywhere: in Bundoran came with the helicopter, at the Lissadell House, in the Sligo shopping centers, everywhere. I believe Santa is the busiest of all this time of the year. Yesterday, he was in one of the shopping centers in Sligo and looked bored. He was checking the time, perhaps he is employed and works some overtime these days. Few minutes I walked by the place where I saw him and he was gone. No patience at all…
What did Santa bring you?
SligoTV meets Santa

Hi again,
We all prepare to meet Santa. I’ve been talking to him for quite a while now. He is loading the sacks for all the good boys and girls out there.
Did you already ask Santa for a gift?
If not, tell us what you wish and will pass it on to Santa. The North Pole phone lines are off because of the recession and the DHL finds it too expensive to travel so far so SligoTV will visit him with your requests.
